Dear Cranford Staff and Families,
This week, families and staff members of Cranford Schools have begun receiving emails from PowerSchool regarding the cybersecurity breach that occurred at PowerSchool in December. Their correspondence is a follow-up to that incident and provides information about signing up for free credit monitoring.
PowerSchool confirmed that emails from the following email addresses are legitimate:
The subject line of the email is "PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident," and the body of the email begins with "Dear PowerSchool User or Parent / Guardian of User:"
Please note that the District is not involved in the free credit monitoring offer. Families can decide whether they wish to take advantage of this service. All questions regarding the cybersecurity incident or the email itself should be directed to PowerSchool at: [email protected]
More information about PowerSchool's response is available here: https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident/
If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact the District office.
Sincerely,
Scott Rubin
