  • How to Become a Substitute Teacher

     To become a substitute a candidate is required to complete an application which can be found at www.cranfordschools.org under the “employment and substitute” tab

    An interview is required upon completion of the application.

  • If you are recommended as a result of the interview,  the following additional steps will be required:

    • Completion of a criminal history background check through Morpho Track
    • Presentation of  a New Jersey teaching certification or a valid county substitute certification
    • (Union County substitute certification can be obtained through the office of the assistant superintendent for administration)
    • Completion of a physical which includes a mantoux test and record review of  immunizations
    • Presentation of two forms of identification fulfilling  I-9 requirements
    • Attendance at substitute orientation meeting and completion of on-line orientation program

     

    Once all steps have been completed the candidate will be recommended to the board of education for approval.  Upon approval the candidate will be notified through the email address provided in the application.  The candidate will be provided with an AESOP user name and password at that time and will be required to log into the system
